There were no survivors because they were already dead
And in complete opposition to that title we have arrived in Japan and it is amazing to no end. The delay in postings was due to an inability to find an internet connection at first. But fortunately we have located an area at the inn that is ripe with signal and I am once again able to feed the monkey; the monkey that is constantly clawing at me from within my brain saying "EEEEEE! EEEEEE!", which I think translates into "where the fuck is the internet?!"
So right now we are in tokyo in an area called Hongo Sanchomi; it's in a great location and close to so many great places. The past two mornings we've been taken to two amazing museums and then around to different parts of the city. Last night a few of us went to Akihabara THE electronic district. It was quite a spectacle: a neon dream with shops stacked floor upon floor. Tokyo is actually not as expensive as I assumed; food is good and cheap and the mass transit system is the same only better. We did a bunch of other great stuff but I honestly don't want to talk about it. go click on the link to my friend jess or greg's blogs if you actually care.
There is, however, a downside to our stay. The truth is that I suck hard at Japanese right now; I've taken a year of it but it's certainly not enough to get far in the city. So it in turn becomes a tease. Someday, when I've become more efficient at this language I shall return to this city and become its King..or citizen. I haven't decided yet.
On friday we're taking the bullet train to kyoto where the fun begins. I am actually really looking foward to begin our class so that I can hone my skill. Kyoto should be great since it isn't so insane of a metropolis and has more Japanese culture to it; not that I mind being a few train stops away from a touching club. I'm kidding of course: it's only hardcore S&M for this healthy christian.
My wrists are getting too warm to keep this typing up. I'm going to leave you all. I'll post some pictures later so you can go "ooo" and "ahhh" sarcastically but under your breath of course so as not to wake your parents up... you losers
